Description Description

The Skin Pik design is local to Goroka and symbolizes when women came together to eat, those with higher status were treated to finer parts of the pig, the women of lower status were left to wait. The design speaks of independence and empowerment.
This Bilum is handwoven from acrylic and wool yarn as well as upcycled knitwear using traditional weaving techniques.
Large size body and short strap length.
Features a zip closure.

Weaver Details Weaver Details

This Bilum was lovingly woven by Tama Jackson. Tama lives with her husband and son in Fanuifa, a small village in Goroka. Tama uses the income she earns from Bilum to support her family and provide schooling for her son. Her signature pattern is the Kundu design woven in vibrant hues.

Care Care

To clean bag, remove pom pom and tassel, cold machine wash and line dry.
