  • The hourglass shaped Kundu Drum is used across Papua New Guinea in daily life and ceremonies. The Kundu design is inspired by this national icon, commonly believed to be the voice of their ancestors.
  • This Bilum is handwoven from acrylic and wool yarn as well as upcycled knitwear using traditional weaving techniques.

This Bilum was lovingly woven by Tama Jackson. Tama lives with her husband and son in Fanuia, a small village in Goroka. Tama uses the income she earns from bilum to support her family and provide schooling for her son. Her signature pattern is the Kundu design woven in vibrant hues.
