Ömie Tribe Bilum
This beautiful bag is handmade by an artist from the Ömie Tribe in the Oro province. This small tribe of less than 2000 people live on the steep slopes of Mt Lamington.
Made from natural twine using the traditional technique of hand rolling plant fibres into 'bush' twine over the knee, painted with natural pigments gathered from plants, berries and ochres then softly accented by our handmade pom poms and tassel in teal, pale blue and soft tones.
Dimensions are 29cm wide, 30cm high and a strap length of 100cm.
